NIST (ANSI/NIST-ITL 1-2000) library version 5.2.5

Cognaxon NIST (ANSI/NIST-ITL 1-2000) library reads and extracts the following file formats: ANSI/NBS-ICST 1-1986, ANSI/NIST-CSL 1-1993, ANSI/NIST-ITL 1a-1997, ANSI/NIST-ITL 1-2000, ANSI/NIST-ITL 1-2007, ANSI/NIST-ITL 1a-2009, ANSI/NIST-ITL 1-2011, ANSI/NIST-ITL 1-2011 Update: 2013, ANSI/NIST-ITL 1-2011 Update: 2015.

These file formats are Data Format for the Interchange of Fingerprint, Facial & Other Biometric Information defined by American National Standard for Information Systems.

NIST library supports: 1) Traditional format and 2) NIEM-conformant XML files.

The advantage of NIST files is the ability to contain multiple images and other types of data about the person in one single file, which simplifies biometric data exchange between participating parties.
As for example: one WSQ file contains only one fingerprint image, but one NIST file contains inside many fingerprint images and also other information.

One single NIST file is able to contain following types of data:
Type-1 Transaction information record (from ANSI/NBS-ICST 1-1986)
Type-2 User-defined descriptive text record (from ANSI/NBS-ICST 1-1986)
Type-3 Fingerprint image data (low-resolution grayscale) (from ANSI/NBS-ICST 1-1986)
Type-4 Grayscale fingerprint image (high-resolution grayscale) (from ANSI/NBS-ICST 1-1986)
Type-5 Fingerprint image data (low-resolution binary) (from ANSI/NIST-CSL 1-1993)
Type-6 Fingerprint image data (high-resolution binary) (from ANSI/NIST-CSL 1-1993)
Type-7 User-defined image record (from ANSI/NIST-CSL 1-1993)
Type-8 Signature image record (from ANSI/NIST-CSL 1-1993)
Type-9 Minutiae data record (from ANSI/NIST-CSL 1-1993)
Type-10 Photographic body part imagery (including face and SMT) record (from ANSI/NIST-ITL 1-2000)
Type-11 Forensic and investigatory voice record (from ANSI/NIST-ITL 1-2011)
Type-12 Forensic dental and oral record (from ANSI/NIST-ITL 1-2011)
Type-13 Friction-ridge latent image record (from ANSI/NIST-ITL 1-2000)
Type-14 Fingerprint image record (from ANSI/NIST-ITL 1-2000)
Type-15 Palm print image record (from ANSI/NIST-ITL 1-2000)
Type-16 User-defined testing image record (from ANSI/NIST-ITL 1-2000)
Type-17 Iris image record (from ANSI/NIST-ITL 1-2007)
Type-18 DNA record (from ANSI/NIST-ITL 1-2011)
Type-19 Plantar image record (from ANSI/NIST-ITL 1-2011)
Type-20 Source representation record (from ANSI/NIST-ITL 1-2011)
Type-21 Associated context record (from ANSI/NIST-ITL 1-2011)
Type-22 Non-photographic imagery data record (from ANSI/NIST-ITL 1-2013 Update:2013)
Type-98 Information assurance record (from ANSI/NIST-ITL 1-2011)
Type-99 CBEFF biometric data record (from ANSI/NIST-ITL 1-2007)

Cognaxon NIST library provides the easy way to add NIST (ANSI/NIST-ITL 1-20xx) format support to your software projects using only a few lines of code.

Additionally NIST library has built-in support for decompressing images from WSQ, JPEG, JPEG2000, PNG and Facsimile ANSI/EIA 538-1988 (TIFF CCITT Group 4) image formats.

NIST library is available for the following platforms:
Windows 64-bit x86-64, Windows 32-bit i386, Linux 64-bit x86-64, Linux 32-bit i386, macOS 64-bit x86-64 and Android.

Adding NIST library to your software project is very easy.
Only 2-3 steps and several lines of code are needed.
